Asset leasing and contract management

Keep asset principal and rent obligations clear

Asset leasing is a core part of HOLD OS, not a side module. Each leasing contract holds the asset, quantity, parties and approved terms, and keeps two different obligations apart.

Contract parties and terms

Every leasing contract in HOLD OS is tied to a specific account, a specific asset and approved terms. The terms come from the institution’s configuration and authority and are recorded when the contract is created.

HOLD OS is a contract management tool, not legal counsel. Whether a contract complies with the laws and requirements that apply to an institution remains that institution’s responsibility.

An approved profile for each asset

Leasing an asset requires a valid, approved profile for that asset. Defining a Custom asset does not create this profile automatically, and the system never guesses a purity grade or standard.

Principal and rent, two different obligations

Keeping these two apart is the simplest way to prevent ambiguity in a contract.

What to evaluateHow HOLD OS approaches it
PrincipalMust be returned in full in the same asset, unit and standard; rent never reduces it.
RentA separate obligation, settled only in the same asset or in whole toman, under the approved policy.
WalletPhysical receipt or return of the principal does not increase a wallet balance.

Schedule and contract records

Events across the life of a leasing contract are recorded in the contract’s own asset and unit.

  1. Create the contract

With the asset’s approved profile and the confirmed terms.

  2. Rent periods

Each period calculated under the approved policy and calendar.

  3. Rent payments

Each payment recorded as an obligation separate from the principal.

  4. Return the principal

The full principal returned in the same asset, unit and standard.

Obligations that settings changes cannot break

If the institution deactivates an asset, no new contracts are created for it; existing contracts, rent payments, period calculation, principal return and permitted cancellation continue in the asset and unit originally recorded.

A Custom asset contract is never converted or relabelled when someone selects a different asset.

An illustrative workflow

An institution records a contract to lease a quantity of Gold to a customer. During the contract, rent for each period is recorded and settled separately under the approved policy, and the principal quantity stays untouched. At the end, the principal is returned in the same asset and standard and recorded.

This workflow only explains the product’s logic. It is not legal, financial or investment advice, and HOLD OS does not promise any yield or return.
