For asset leasing businesses
Keep contracts and obligations in view
An organization that leases assets manages obligations that continue over time. HOLD OS records each contract with approved terms and keeps the asset principal and the rent apart from beginning to end.
Leasing contract Approved terms and a specific asset
- Principal Returned in full, in the same asset
- Periodic rent A separate obligation under the approved policy
The operating context
In asset leasing, the institution places an asset with another party for a period and receives rent in return. The work ends with the same asset coming back. If principal and rent are mixed in the records, even the simplest question — how much has to come back? — becomes hard to answer.
HOLD OS records the two separately from the start, so it is always clear how much principal is outstanding and which rent has been settled.
Approved terms, before the contract
Each contract is built on configuration the institution has already approved.
-
Asset profile
Fungible asset and standard, custody and delivery method.
-
Calculation policy
The rule for calculating rent for that asset.
-
Calendar
Periods and timing of calculation and settlement.
-
Authority
Contracts are created and managed only within a defined authority.
Principal and periodic rent
The cycle of a leasing contract in HOLD OS has these stages.
-
Start the contract
Record the contract with asset, quantity and approved terms.
-
Each period
Rent for the period calculated under the policy and calendar.
-
Settle rent
In the same asset or whole toman, never reducing the principal.
-
End the contract
Return the full principal in the same asset, unit and standard.
Responsibility and history
Leasing contracts can outlast changes to an institution’s settings. In HOLD OS, if an asset is deactivated no new contracts are recorded for it, but running contracts, rent payments, period calculation and principal return continue in the same asset and unit.
Authority to create and manage contracts depends, like every other operation, on role, account and asset, so it is always clear under whose authority each contract action took place.
An evaluation scenario
To evaluate HOLD OS, pick one of your organization’s typical contracts and follow its path in the product during a walkthrough: from defining the asset profile to recording the contract, the rent periods and the return of the principal.
This scenario is for assessing fit; it is not legal or financial advice, and HOLD OS does not promise any particular yield.
- Asset profile Defined and approved
- Record the contract Terms and parties
- Rent periods Calculated and settled
- Return the principal End of contract
